As its name suggests, Mkv2vob has been created to allow converting MKV (Matroska) video files to other video file formats. Its main purpose is to convert MKV files to VOB videos and other file types, which are compatible with the Sony PS3.
Mkv2vob comes with a neat, self-explanatory interface. Though it can’t be resized or customized, it keeps things simple and easy. Besides its interface, I also like about this application the fact that it allows converting files one by one or converting an entire folder of video files at once. Another advantage of using mkv2vob is the fact that it lets you split the video files into pieces of preset dimensions. The transcoding codec and other parameters can also be configured by the users.
The high conversion speed of Mkv2vob is another big plus in my book, and so is the fact that this application is open source, allowing developers to freely download and use its source code.
In an end note, Mkv2vob is the kind of open-source application that everyone, including me, likes: it delivers exactly what it promises and it comes with no false advertising or unneeded functions.
